Bruno Lage was left frustrated together with his side’s lack of final touch and ‘silly’ mistakes in defence at Molineux on Saturday lunchtime as Wolves were left ruing missed chances during a defeat to newly-promoted Brentford.

Wolves fell behind from the penalty spot when Marcal brought down Ivan Toney within the 18-yard-box, but Lage felt his side were also deserving of their own spot-kick when the sport was still at 1-0 as he believed Francisco Trincao was pulled inside the box as he tried to react to Adama Traore’s shot which cannoned back of the crossbar. Although he made several attacking changes within the playing period , his team were unable to hit the target which suggests they're still trying to find their first win reception this campaign.
On coming away empty handed
“It was a wierd day. When you’re working for what we did, and therefore the way we started the sport , once you come to the top result, it’s not good for us. We started during a great way , tried to regulate everything, creating chances, on the other hand it had been the instant that changed the sport because it had been a silly penalty for us. We cannot do this mistake.
“We know that Brentford are a robust team, the way they play, the way they are available to press, it’s difficult to start out the sport like that and obtain nothing. After 20 minutes the opponent did nothing, and that we give them an opportunity to attain . But there have been too many mistakes from our side which is why we suffered the second goal, and that we lost our position within the game.
“When you reminisce , we got punished with this result, except for our decisions, and therefore the refore the way we play and the way we create chances, we've to attain goals and you can't offer goals for the opponent like that.”
On Wolves’ penalty appeal
“We see tons of those situations altogether of the boxes, but thereon one [Marcal foul] we were unlucky, the referee saw it and it had been a penalty for them. That gave Brentford the prospect to start out winning the sport .
“We tried to react and after two or three minutes we had an honest chance for Adama, when he hit the crossbar, and if you saw, an equivalent thing happened which happened in our box, the defender grabbed Trincao and zip happened.
“I’m not a person to complain, but we'd like to ascertain these sorts of things. that's why VAR exists, to assist referees to form these decisions and when the one thing happens in our box and therefore the same behaviour is in their box, it should be a penalty for us.”

On second-half changes
“At half-time, I did my changes to undertake to be more offensive, changed Trincao to the left, Adama to the proper , put Hwang in between the lines, and that we tried to link the sport to make chances.
“We tried to try to to everything. We took three defenders off to place on strikers and wingers to open up the sport and check out to make more chances. i feel the sport was ours [to win]. We took a risk and had everything in our hands to undertake to vary the sport , and although we still created chances, we didn’t score goals.
“It was a really hard defeat to require due to the way we started the sport , and therefore the way we offered these two goals for the opponent, so this is often why it had been a frustrating game. But this is often football.”
On the shortage of goals
“It’s a priority , but not just from this year, from the past the team didn’t score too many goals. they need maybe one or two per game, therefore the average of the goals isn't big, so we’re trying to play a special way, trying to make more chances to boost that average.
“But within the end, once you reminisce and see we created tons of chances, to only have three points and two goals may be a bit frustrating for us.”
On chances for Traore and Jimenez
“I remember one good cross [from Traore] into the far post and there was no-one there. Adama works hard a day to enhance , and now we are playing during a different way and when the opposite team are compact and solid within the box, he can improve the way he plays and do various things .
“But he comes a day thereupon will to enhance . we'd like to still work with him.
“It was an honest chance for us and he [Jimenez] didn’t score, but Raul is doing good after what he did. That suffering within the last 10 months and therefore the way he came back, he’s doing everything he can to assist us.”
On maintaining the assumption
“I believe them. The way we started today and after the way we give the 2 goals for the opponent, it’s frustration.
“I want to ascertain happy football, offensive football and that we can manage the games within the different way. But our process is to still attack and that we still add that way, to enhance and win games.”
