You can create an Apple ID on an iPhone or Mac via the App Store, or using the browser on your PC or another device. You cannot use your iPhone effectively without an Apple ID; fortunately, signing up for an Apple ID is free and simple. If you have not used the App Store on an iPhone or iPad device, you can sign up for a new Apple ID the first time the App Store app is launched.

You can sign into your iPhone or iPad using your free Apple Account by going to Settings ---> Sign In on Your iPhone. When asked to sign in with your Apple ID, tap Create new Apple ID, then proceed with Step 4 in the tutorial above. Select Sign Out, and then tap Create New Apple ID, and go through the steps for How to Create a New Apple ID listed above. On the next screen, enter in your email, password, select which country you would like your Apple ID to be used for, and click Next.
Or, if you just turned on the iPhone, select the language, city, and other settings, then you will be asked to create your Apple ID. When you purchase a new iPhone or iPad and setup, you will be asked to create a new Apple ID if you do not already have one. If you attempt to create an account using an existing Apple ID, such as your iCloud email address, you will get a prompt telling you your email address is already an Apple ID. Once you confirm the email address you provided, you can use your new Apple ID to log into the iTunes Store, the App Store, and other Apple services, like iCloud.
Open the email address that you have set up as your Apple ID, open the email from Apple that says "Verify Your Apple ID Email Address," and take note of the five-digit code at the center of the email. When you are filling in details to create an Apple ID, be sure to use a new email address, meaning one that has not been linked to an Apple account before. Now, you will be asked about creating an Apple ID account, which you can click and start the Apple ID account creation process. If you have not, open up your Settings app (cogwheel icon) and navigate to Apple ID, scroll down, and tap Log Out.

You will also have to create a new password using the standard apple password. From here, you will have to agree to Apples terms and privacy policy, then you can complete a form to create your new Apple ID. If you want to purchase apps from the App Store, use iCloud, iMessage, or FaceTime, or subscribe to Apple services that were previously under the iTunes Account umbrella, including Apple Music, Books, TV, and Podcasts, you will first need to have a personal Apple ID. If you own a top-of-the-line iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, or even an Apple TV, you are going to want an Apple ID.
